Zemkala - Roots of African Music
Zemkala is a Tanzanian traditional music band. It is promoted and marketed by Art in Tanzania, a Finnish - Tanzanian NGO. The band has eight highly talented young members whom have developed themselves as individual artists and their personal instrument play man ship to a level never seen in Tanzanian music circles.

The addition on bass and guitar, played to back up the traditional sounds, has given their songs a new unheard sound of Africa. During the stage performances their individual drumming and dancing skills puts the audience on their feet.

The band has overseas festival experience and is now ready for to gain more popular name in the music circles. This band is a good investment to any music festivals and big shows around the world.

Art in Tanzania - Organization
Art in Tanzania is supporting Tanzanian music and musicians. We have our music studio for the recordings, PA systems for the shows and we deliver information and market the talented Tanzanian artists. We are also starting music education in our education programs (not existing in Tanzania!) and search for talents among the youth, mainly from the poor societies, street kids and orphans.

We finance and operate our activities and programs with a help of international volunteers and fund raising by offering safari and adventure programs in Tanzania.
